KEEP is a partnership program between local Japanese churches in the greater Tokyo area and the Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission. (The K of KEEP stands for "Kanto," which means greater Tokyo.) The ministry is done by short term tentmakers who teach evangelistic English conversation classes in three EFC of Japan churches. In 2008, Laura S started as the first teacher in KEEP. In the summer of 2009 she began a medical leave in the US for cancer treatment. We are thankful that Laura will resume her ministry in the fall of 2010. In the meantime, Eric Z, already resident in Tokyo and a member of Musashino Chapel Center, stepped in to help with the classes from Oct/2009 through Mar/2010. And from Apr - Jun/2010, Chie K from California has been our interim EFCCM teacher. The KEEP pastors are now requesting a second EFCCM teacher beginning in 2011 and plan to add one more church to KEEP in order to make this possible. (The KEEP churches carry the bulk of the financial responsibility for the program.) KEEP prefers a one year commitment, usually from Sep - Jun.
