Tokyo Team is currently an informal network of people serving with the Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission who value interaction with each other about their lives and ministries. These people have a vision for serving the Lord in greater Tokyo, particularly in local church based ministry linked with the Evangelical Free Church.

In this great land of Japan where there are purportedly millions of so-called deities holding sway over 127 million people, but only one church for every 15,000 people and only 1% or fewer followers of Jesus Christ, personnel linked with Tokyo Team serve in church planting, church strengthening, evangelism, and Christian leadership development in the greater Tokyo area. Greater Tokyo has a population of more than 35 million.

Tokyo Team will hopefully eventually incorporate people who are not necessarily serving with the EFCCM--both missionaries and interested individuals. Because of the historically significant partnership in Japan between the EFCCM and ReachGlobal (the EFC of America international mission agency), and because both agencies have worked closely with the EFC of Japan, ReachGlobal personnel in the Tokyo area are particularly welcome to join this Tokyo Team network. But the network is also open to personnel from other agencies.
